Pagadian mayor urges newly elected SK federated officials to unite

Corgue PAGADIAN CITY, November 17 – I urge the newly elected officials of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Pagadian City to unite in the face of challenges they experienced in the last Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE). Thus, disclosed Mayor Samuel Co in his weekly program dubbed "Mayor's Report" which was simulcast on radio stations here. Co said that he urged the winning officers of the SK federation to approach their opponents in the last election and befriend them so that they can unite. Lakewood town holds 2nd ATM Bancarera’s competition

Corgue LAKEWOOD, Zamboanga del Sur, November 13 – About 50 boat racers participated in the largest pump boat race in Mindanao dubbed "2nd ATM Lakewood Bancarera 2023" at the port of barangay población here. Engr. Aldrik Mirar, the president of the Rotary Club of Pagadian West and organizer of the event, said that the race is one of the highlights of the “Araw ng Lakewood’ celebration that is held every November 11. "We are holding the 'bancarera' in the town because Mayor Doming Mirar asked me again to do the event because he observed that many people like to watch it," Mirar said. MOPPO releases cartographic sketch of the suspect of slain broadcaster

Corgue CLARIN, Misamis Occidental, November 6 – The Misamis Occidental Provincial Police (MPPO) released the cartographic sketch of one of the suspects in the killing of radio broadcaster Juan Jumalon, who was gunned down while reporting live on air over the weekend. In a press conference on Monday, November 6, 2023, P/Colonel Dwight Monato, the provincial director said that the cartographic sketch is based on information obtained from witnesses and complemented by CCTV footages recovered by investigators in the vicinity of the crime scene. "Based on the accounts of the witnesses, we were able to come up with a computerized composite sketch of one of the suspects. This is now being shown to the public, so that we can gather more information that would lead to the identification of the suspects," Monato said. Mayor Co seriously considers not to run in the 2025 local election

By Gideon C. Corgue PAGADIAN CITY, November 1 – "I am seriously considering not running in the 2025 local election," thus declared the father of Pagadian City. In the press conference, Mayor Samuel Co revealed that the result of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE) on October 30 in Pagadian City is not good because of the 54 barangay chairpersons, only 18 who supported him won, while 36 supported his political opponent. "I am extremely disappointed, discouraged and I seem to have lost my strength with the results of the BSKE because many of our barangay chairpersons lost. I feel sorry for them, especially the hardworking barangay officials," Co said.
