NCSC releases cash gifts to senior citizens in Dumalinao town

DUMALINAO, Zamboanga del Sur August 25 — The National Commission on Senior Citizens released cash gifts to nineteen senior citizens on Friday.
The distribution of cash gifts was led by Mayor Raul Famor and assisted by NCSC Regional Director Fernando Sumundong together with Elaine May Saripada, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer and Rebecca Guillermo, president of the Federation of Senior Citizens Association (FESCA) and held at the municipal gym.
NCSC-9 Regional Director Sumundong in his message said that President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., the NCSC chairperson reached out to senior citizens through the implementation of the Republic Act No. 11982 or the “Expanded Senior Citizens Act”, where Filipino citizens who reach the milestone ages of 80, 85, 90 and 95 years old will be provided benefits by the government.
He also
encouraged senior citizens who have not yet been registered to register at the
Office of Senior Citizens (OSCA) as the deadline for registration is on August
29.

Famor expressed his profound gratitude to the national government through the
National Commission on Senior Citizens (NCSC) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development
(DSWD) for caring the senior citizens in the municipality of Dumalinao by providing them with benefits.
He also
informed the senior citizens that they should expect more privileges from the
national government since the government has given importance to them through
the implementation of various programs.
In the same vein, Guillermo was grateful to the NCSC for having the first eligible seniors to receive the cash gift in the town of Dumalinao and she is optimistic that in the month of October, there will be more than a hundred senior citizens whose birthdays fall between January and October, will also receive the P10,000.00 cash gift from the NCSC.
