Dumalinao mayor to offer free transportation to college students
By Gideon C. Corgue
DUMALINAO, Zamboanga del Sur, July 10 —"Free
transportation for college students will be the first thing that will be
implemented under my administration”.
Thus disclosed Mayor Raul Famor, the newly elected mayor
of Dumalinao during the recently
convened Consultative Stakeholder’s Forum held at the municipal gym.
Famor added that he feels compassion for the poor parents
who have approached him and asked for help with their problem of paying for the
daily transportation of their children who are studying in Pagadian.
The local chief executive added that if the LGU can
provide free transportation to college students for 22 days, parents will save
a total of P220,000.00 and will no longer have to worry about sending their
children to school.
“Nangayo ko ni Governor Divina Grace Yu ug tabang ning maong programa, pinaagi sa pagpahulam ug dugang nga sakyanan sanglit ang LGU aduna lamang duha ka sakyanan nga magamit. Nalipay ko kay mi-approve siya sa akong hangyo kaniya.” Famor said.(I asked Governor Divina Grace Yu for help with this program, by lending me an additional vehicle since the LGU has only two vehicles to use. I am happy that she approved my request”.)
Famor said
that the free transportation is part of the governor's 'HEARTS' program. (jcc/KBP-Zamboanga
