DOLE conducts Technical and Advisory Visit (TAV) for San Pablo micro-entrepreneurs

SAN PABLO, Zamboanga del Sur, July 15   The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in coordination with the local government unit (LGU) of San Pablo, conducted an onsite Technical and Advisory Visit (TAV)  for micro enterprises at the municipal gym on June 11, 2025.



Mayor Divine Neleh Taucan-Agnhad in her message said that the Technical Advisory Visit (TAV) conducted by DOLE and attended by nearly 200 micro-establishments is a strong symbol of partnership in uplifting the quality of labor standards, compliance and over all economic well-being of the  local micro entrepreneurs.

“TAV is not only about compliance but also about empowerment. It also provides opportunities for micro-entrepreneurs to understand their rights and obligations and develop their businesses in the right way,” Anghad said.


“ We commend DOLE for bringing this advocacy platform closer to us. It strengthens our efforts in promoting social protection and occupational safety and to ensure the welfare and dignity of every worker in our town- San Pablo,” Anghad added.

Meanwhile, Chief Labor Employment OffiMiralfor Casanes provided a thorough overview of Department Order No. 238-2023 and the General Labor Standards, Occupational Safety and Health Standards.


Casanes said that the TAV for micro-establishments is a developmental approach provided under DO 238, which aims to assist micro-establishments to comply with applicable labor laws and regulations through education and self-assessment.

"The law took effect on April 29 and is very relevant to the day-to-day activities of micro-establishments," Casanes elucidated.

She also said  that the government is implementing policies and legislations by lawmakers to help the business sector and workers in the private sector.

“D. O. No. 238 is the new guidelines for the DOLE to conduct the labor inspection program," Casanes concluded.

An open forum was also held with invited resource speakers from Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Social Security System (sss), Philhealth, And Bureau Of Fire Protection (BFP) where they shared essential programs and services of their agencies to support and improve lives of micro-entrepreneurs.(jcc/KBP-Zamboanga del Sur )
