2 PNP informants get P1-M reward from ZamboSur gov’t

PAGADIAN
CITY, July 18 —Two (2) informants received
their P1-milion cash reward from Governor Divina Grace Yu during a ceremonial
hand over led by P/Col. Bonifacio Aranas, Jr., the provincial director of the
Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the
Provincial Governor's Office.
The informants were
instrumental in the arrest of three suspects wanted for heinous crimes, the following:
Jonathan Bugwak Abayon aka "John-John, Wilfredo Doliente Pamisa aka
'Jongjong', and Jovito Lozano Renposa aka 'Maru' for their involvement on the
death of Barangay Captain Raymundo Alviar of Tuburan, Pagadian City on August
25, 2021 and Romie Naong, October 18, 2022 at Farmers Haven, Dao, Pagadian City
and the killing of Francisco Maca, Jr., barangay councilor of Poblacion ,
Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.
Abayon was arrested by authorities on July 6, 2025 in
Iligan City, Pamisa was arrested on July 10, 2025 in Pagadian City , and
Renposa was arrested on July 13, 2025, respectively.
Governor Dvina Grace Yu said that informants are very
important and have helped solve crimes. “Through them, the most wanted persons
in the province and region were arrested.”
"The information from the informants is very
valuable and can contribute to knowing the presence of criminals who committed
crimes in the province, Yu said.
The suspects are now in the custody of Pagadian City Jail.
Meanwhile, Arañas lauded
the informants for their cooperation, which led to the arrest of fugitives
facing complaints such as murder.
Arañas said that this accomplishment is "a testament
to our unwavering commitment to bring wanted criminals to justice and ensure
that there is rule of law to prevail."
"We commend our intelligence operatives and all our
units involved for meticulous planning and steadfast dedication," Arañas
said.
The arrest, Arañas said “sends a strong message that no
one can escape the long arm of the law and this also serves as a reminder that
justice may be delayed but it will not definitely be denied.”
"To the people Zamboang del sur rest assured that we
will continue our intensified campaign against wanted persons, criminal
elements and all threats to public safety, Arañas concluded.
For
their safety and security, the claimants wore masks to conceal their identity.
The ceremony was witnessed by former Governor Victor Yu and (Ret.) Colonel Oscar Buenaobra , head of SSFO/political officer of provincial government. (jcc/KBP-Zamboanga del Sur )
