PAGADIAN CITY, June 18 — In a show of support for the Department of Education (DepEd)’s annual program  ‘Brigada Eskwela’, the Kapisanan ng ma Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), Zamboanga del Sur chapter conducted ‘Oplan Pintura, Balik Eskwela’ on June 14 at Mabuhay Elementary School (MES), Tabina town.

About 50 broadcasters from various radio stations in the city joined together to paint the classrooms of the school.

Melchor Coronel, KBP chairman, said that broadcasters are not only providing information or news on the air but also providing services to the community as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR).

One of their CSR activities is offering free services to schools through their ‘Oplan Pintura, Balik Eskwela’ program.

Oplan Pintura, Balik Eskwela’, an initiative initiated by the local chapter, was implemented by the local chapter in 2016 in support of the Brigada Eskwela program of the DepEd.

The radio stations through their respective station managers contributed paints and painting materials and their voluntary service in painting classrooms aimed at helping schools to start classes on June 16 smoothly.

KBP members also provided free vitamins, toys, and snacks to school children.

Vivian Davo, the school principal expressed her gratitude for the positive response of KBP to their request to avail of their program.

“We are very happy that KBP visited our school and we were very lucky to benefit from their program,” Davo said.

The KBP members did not mind the distance they traveled, but they were happy after providing free services to the school.

It can be recalled that the MES is the second public school to avail of the ‘OPlan Pintura, Balik Eskwela’ where the first to avail was the Zamboanga del Sur National High School, Pagadian City on June 10.(jcc/KBP-Zamboanga del Sur )
