City gov't provides COVID-19 financial assistance to Pagadianons

The Pagadian City government has provided financial
assistance to the residents of the city who are victims of the Covid-19
pandemic. The distribution of financial assistance was held at the Covered Cour
here on September 24.
Audrey Cabato, the supervising officer of the Pagadian
City Emergency Operations Office said that out of 208 Covid-19 deaths, 117
beneficiaries came to their office and claimed financial assistance of P5K each
and out of 1,281 Hospital Admitted Covid-19 Patients, 943 claimants came to
their office and submitted requirements to claim the benefit of P3K each.
"Although some Covid Death beneficiaries and
hospital admitted Covid-19 patients who have not claimed and have not been
processed yet are now submitting themselves to claim for their
assistance," Cabato explained.
"We have announced the financial assistance wayback
May 2024 but some opted not to come forward. They only came now after hearing
or on the news that the Pagadian LGU is now already releasing the
assistance," she added.
Mayor Samuel Co informed the people how the Pagadian City
government successfully responded to the Covid 19 pandemic in the year 2020
until 2023.
Co said that Pagadian is one of the cities in the country that has been hit by COVID-19. And the city govt has successfully managed the spread of the virus, the authority and movement of people as well as the operational capacity of businesses.
Co said that during the outbreak of Covid-19 in the city,
patients with mild symptoms were treated by the city health personnel while
patients with severe symptoms were taken to the Infirmary Hospital in barangay
Danlugan and treated without prejudice.
He added that those infected with the disease, even
though they did not support him, were taken care of by the staff of the
hospital by giving them medicines and were released from the hospital free of
charge for hospital expenses.
"Whether they are supporters of Sammy Co or not,
they are accepted by the hospital personnel just to be treated and saved from
the danger of the disease," announced Co.
CO added that in the Danlugan Infirmary he installed 60
beds and placed doctors who take care of the patients.
CO also thanked the representatives of the Department of
Health and City Health Office for providing quick services through the assigned
doctors and nurses.
Meanwhile, Joey Quipot, the Development Management
Officer of the Department of Health -Zamboanga Peninsula- Center for Health and
DevelOpment (DOH-ZP-CHD) also thanked the officialdom of the city government
for actively supporting the DOH's launch of the vaccination campaign during the
COVID -19 pandemic to maintain the wall of immunity. (jcc/Pagadian Times)
