Pagadian Task Force Alambre starts removing messy wires

PAGADIAN CITY, July 8---Mayor Samuel Co announced that
Task Force Alambre has recently started clearing tangled telecommunication and
electrical wires in major streets of the city that have become an eyesore to
the public.
Thus disclosed Mayor Samuel Co during the weekly radio program "Mayor's Report".
Co said that the task force has started cleaning the
wires from the rotunda down and heading to the port.
Co added that he is very grateful to the task force
because in their work they used equipment such as boom trucks and other
vehicles and more than 30 people in the team that made the work fast and easy.
Before it was started, Co said that he saw the mess and the poles were very dirty and the wires were hanging.
"If we didn't create the task force, we will have a
very difficult time cleaning the poles that have a lot of hanging wires,"
explained Co.
The local chief executive said that he was surprised
because more than two dump trucks of bad cable wires were found by the task
force during their work and these were owned by the old telephone companies
before and were not operating. today.
He added that the electrical engineers are very careful
cutting the wires so as not to cause inconvenience to the people.
The good mayor also announced that the task force will immediately follow the cleaning of the messy wires in the busiest area of the city from the Balangasan river to Rizal Avenue.
The city government, Co said has a plan in the coming
years that the wirings will be placed underground but this plan will take a
long time to be implemented since it will require an huge amount of funds.
Meanwhile, he asked for the understanding from the
people, especially when they experienced the brief shutdown of their internet
connection saying what the Task Force did was to clean the wirings in the city.
The task force comprises of following telco companies such as Globe, Smart, PLDT, Kismet Cable TV, unique Cable TV, and Cruztelco. (jcc/The Pagadian Times)
