Chinese New Year: A year of hope, prosperity and good fortune, says PCFCCCI prexy

PAGADIAN CITY, February 10—
This year's Chinese New Year symbolizes hope, prosperity, and good fortune, the
officer of the Pagadian City Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Inc.
(PCFCCCI) says.
Alexander Co, the president of PCFCCCI in his message during the Chinese New Year celebration held at Plaza Luz on February 9, said that the Chinese New Year is the festive season that marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle.
Co said that this joyful
season, the streets come alive with vibrant decorations and rhythmic beats of
tradition drums, the air is filled with laughter, the aroma of delectable feast
and the sound of fire crackers all symbolizing the "hope, prosperity, and
good fortune" to the residents.
"We are also reminded
that this season is the time to let go of the past, to forgive, to embrace new
opportunities that lie ahead. Let us embrace the spirit of resilience and
adaptability as we navigate the everchanging world around us," Co added.
As we celebrate this momentous
occasion, Co encouraged his Filipino-Chinese colleagues to extend their hearts
and open our doors to those who are in need. "Let us cherish the bonds of
family and friendship and extend the hand of kindness and compassion to our
fellow human beings," he added.
In the same vein, Mayor Samuel
Co hopes that in celebrating the Chinese New Year, the people will expect
within this year there will be more prosperity in the city because there are
many implemented projects that will soon be completed.
"Our dreams of making Pagadian City as one of the fastest growing cities in Mindanao is now gradually becoming a reality," said Co.
Co also sincerely thanked the
officers and members of PCFCCCI who contributed a lot to the development of the
city by putting their businesses.
He also thanked all those who
participated in the Chinese New Year celebration from the public and private
sectors especially the Chinese community and law enforcement officers who help
maintain order and peace in the city, and First Lady Ilang-Ilang Co. who is
responsible for decorating the surroundings and inside of Plaza Luz. (jcc/The
