SSS recognizes vital role of media in the successful implementation of their programs, services
By Gideon C. Corgue
PAGADIAN CITY, December 26 – The Social Security System
(SSS), Pagadian branch recognized the important role of media partners for
their unwavering support and cooperation in the activities of their agency
throughout the year.
In the media forum, Edwin Remoto, the branch head said
that the media partners contributed a lot in reporting to the public the accurate
information regarding the programs, services and activities of their agency.
"Your valuable coverage and insightful reporting reached a wider audience and effectively communicated the benefits and services provided by the SSS especially in Pagadian branch," Remoto said.
Remoto said that they are truly grateful for the strong
partnership with each other and for their professionalism, integrity and
commitment to serve in their agency which has been instrumental in bridging the
gap between the SSS and the community they serve.
Zamboanga del Sur, said Remoto, is a very big area
compared to other places but they only have a small number of personnel in the
field and they cannot fully saturate the province because they need media
partners to help spread the information.
In the same development, Remoto announced that as of
November 2023, the SSS-Pagadian branch has a total number of employed, self,
employed and voluntary members of 89,332 but only 28,437 of them are in active
status. Meanwhile, there are also 2,953 owners of business establishments who
have registered in their agency.
The SSS branch head said that they continue to conduct
orientation in the barangays in their KaltaSSS-Collect program for job orders
(JOs) and contractual workers of government institutions and professional
organizations to provide them with adequate safety nets while they are working.
"We expect that we could cover more individuals under the KaltaSSS-Collect Program," Remoto concluded.
After the forum, Remoto also distributed certificates of appreciation to media partners from print, broadcast and social media as a way to express their gratitude for their active support of their office. (jcc/Pagadian Times)
