Choose our barangay leaders wisely, says ZamboSur governor

PAGADIAN CITY, October 28 – In the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE) on October 30, Governor Victor Yu urged the voters to choose the candidate who will be able to implement development projects and programs in the barangay.


Yu said that the voters should be able to choose the candidate who will help the people in the barangay adding that "when they are in a difficult situation, they will be able to find a way to help the people and can also bring projects to the barangay.”

Yu said that we should bear in mind that the barangay leaders are supposed to represent the people to bring about the much needed changes in the grassroots.

The good governor said that the three-year tenure of the barangay official is a short period of time, but if the service they provide to the people is sincere, it will help the barangay a lot.

Meanwhile, he discouraged the voters not to choose the candidate who is only thinking about the 'slot' because he believes that he will not be able to provide projects and programs in the barangay.

"He (the candidate) does not care about doing projects or programs in the barangay because what he is thinking about is only the slot," the governor warned.

"We will choose a good and reliable leader because if the voters fail to choose the right leader in this year's BSKE election, the people will still suffer from the mistake they made," Yu concluded. (jcc/The Pagadian Times)
