PAGADIAN CITY, Aug. 13-
Governor Victor Yu commended the joint attendance of various Bangsamoro members
that led to the success of the 1st Bangsamoro Summit in Zamboanga del Sur held
recently at Pavillon Hall, barangay Dao here.
Yu said that the 1st Bangsamoro Summit is the avenue for the gathering of its members so that the provincial government can listen to the issues and concerns as well as opportunities in the Bangsamoro that can bring peace and development to the community.
Yu also urged the officials
of the Bangsamoro Provincial Consultative Council (BPCC) that the Bangsamoro
group can avail of the programs of the national government such as scholarship,
livelihood and others, since there are several programs that they can avail of.
The good governor also thanked the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) for allocating more funds for the "no balance billing" (NBB) program at the Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center (ZDSMC).
He disclosed that in the
year 2022, BARMM provided P5 million through 'Ayudang Medikal mula sa
Bangsamoro Government' (AmBaG) and this year 2023, it allocated an additional
P10 million and it is possible to increase it to P20 million.
This aid is included in the
combined funds of the provincial government and the congressional funds to
sustain the free hospitalization of ZDSMC which is a legacy of Yu
administration.
Meanwhile, Professor Noron
Andan of the Office for Other Bangsamoro Communities-BARRM thanked the
provincial government for recognizing the Bangsamoro communities through the
summit.
"The summit helped a lot because the grassroots of the Bangsamoro participated and for them to hear about important issues and concerns and other government programs," Andan said happily.
Lamli Dulunan, the former
school principal of Dinas National High School said that the Bangsamoro
communities' long dream of holding the summit in the province has finally come
true.
Dulunan was also happy that
the different tribes of the Bangsamoro namely: Tausog, Maguindanao, Maranao,
and Iranon were united in the meeting.
"We thank Governor Victor
Yu because for us, he is the only true governor who has a heart and vision for
the Bangsamonoro people in this province," Dulunan concluded.
Yu also urged the Bangsamoro
brothers to help the government maintain peace and stability in the province
because he believes that through their joint cooperation, the province will
have lasting peace and development. (jcc/The Pagadian Times)
