ZamPen's NSPC qualifiers underwent Regional Enhancement Training

PAGADIAN CITY, July 14— The Department of Education (DepEd-9) through the Curriculum Learning and Management Division (CLMD) has trained student-journalists in the Regional Enhancement Training (RET) held recently at the NEAP Building, Barangay Tiguma here.


Dr. Eugenio Penales, the chief of CLMD said that the event helped develop the skills and competence of the RSPC winners who will represent region-9 to the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) in Cagayan de Oro City on July 17 -21.

Penales said that the training refined the writing skills of the participants including their grammar, vocabulary, sentence construction, coherence and writing techniques so that they can produce high quality output.


In the training, Penales said that the participants learned how to identify newsworthy topics, conduct interviews, verify facts, and present information in a clear, concise and engaging manner.

He added that the participants also gained editorial and layout design competence from the invited expert resource speakers.


"The group activity, workshop and discussions fostered mutual learning, sharing of ideas and building camaraderie among the qualifiers," Penales proudly announced.

Penales also encouraged the participants to always think positively so that they can hurdle the happiness in the future, and bring honor when they return to Zamboanga Peninsula after their participation in the 2023 NSPC.

The region 9 delegation consists of 97 participants, 45 coaches and 23 officials. (jcc/KBP-Zamboanga del Sur)
