Rotary Club of Pagadian West conducts feeding program, free haircuts to IP’s children

LAKEWOOD, Zamboanga del Sur, July 29-- About 100 poor children of the Indigenous People (IP) in purok 9 and 10 of Barangay Tubod, Lakewood benefited from the feeding program conducted by the Rotary Club of Pagadian West recently.


Aldrick Mirar, the president said that the event is part of the charity work of the organization to address the malnutrition problem in the barangay.

Mirar explained that it is part of their social duties and responsibilities as officers and members of the international organization to provide voluntary humanitarian services especially to poor communities, encourage high standards of behavior, and help develop of goodwill and peace in the province.


Mirar added that they also conducted the feeding program for poor children in barangay Bululawan last year, and actively supported the government in the roll-out campaign of the COVID-19 vaccination in barangay Poblacion.

"We conducted the feeding program in the month of July because the entire country is celebrating Nutrition Month. Besides, we also provide free haircuts to children including their parents", Mirar said.


Meanwhile, the children were happy that the feeding program was held in their barangay because apart from being able to taste the delicious food, they felt their genuine concern for them as children of the Indigenous Peoples (IPs).
