Zamboanga Sur information officer shot dead by his escort

Corgue Vincenzo Sagun, Zamboanga del Sur, June 20 — Jesriel  HImang, an information officer of  Zamboanga del Sur, was the victim of a shooting incident that occurred on June 19 at around 11:50 p.m. in Vincenzo Sagun town. According to a police report, Himang, 40 years old, married and a resident of Purok Talisay B, Barangay Kawit, Pagadian City, along with Celgwen Mae Quirbajosa Arellano, 24 years old, a student, and a resident of Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur, and Reymond Lopecillo, 29 years old, a resident of Babylop, Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur, were at the function hall of the RM Beach resort in the town. Before the incident happened, Himang and the suspect who was his escort while having a drinking spree and when they got drunk, a heated argument ensued which resulted in the shooting of the victim. KBP ZamboSur Chapter conducts ‘Oplan Pintura, Balik Eswkela’ in some schools of the province

Corgue PAGADIAN CITY, June 18 — In a show of support for the Department of Education (DepEd)’s annual program   ‘Brigada Eskwela’, the Kapisanan ng ma Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), Zamboanga del Sur chapter conducted ‘Oplan Pintura, Balik Eskwela’ on June 14 at Mabuhay Elementary School (MES), Tabina town. About 50 broadcasters from various radio stations in the city joined together to paint the classrooms of the school. Melchor Coronel, KBP chairman, said that broadcasters are not only providing information or news on the air but also providing services to the community as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR). One of their CSR activities is offering free services to schools through their ‘Oplan Pintura, Balik Eskwela’ program. Over 3K job vacancies up for grabs in Pagadian Kalayaan Jobs Fair 2025

Corgue PAGADIAN CITY, JUNE 8 — At least 3,3396 job vacancies are available during the Kalayaan Job Fair 2025 to be held on June 12 here,   the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-9) announced recently. In a press conference, DOLE-9 Regional Director Albert Gutib said the job fair which will be held at Robinson’s Place, is the agency’s annual commitment to providing a bright future for ZamboSurians through diverse employment opportunities. The job fair will bring together 14 local companies/establishments and 8 overseas recruitment agencies, offering 3,396 job vacancies. "Production workers, micro-finance workers, divers, service crew, branch officers, sales associates, nursing staff, managers, branch managers, and promo dicers are among the top 10 job opportunities offered," Gutib added.
