City gov't provides COVID-19 financial assistance to Pagadianons

By: Gideon C. Corgue The Pagadian City government has provided financial assistance to the residents of the city who are victims of the Covid-19 pandemic. The distribution of financial assistance was held at the Covered Cour here on September 24. Audrey Cabato, the supervising officer of the Pagadian City Emergency Operations Office said that out of 208 Covid-19 deaths, 117 beneficiaries came to their office and claimed financial assistance of P5K each and out of 1,281 Hospital Admitted Covid-19 Patients, 943 claimants came to their office and submitted requirements to claim the benefit of P3K each. "Although some Covid Death beneficiaries and hospital admitted Covid-19 patients who have not claimed and have not been processed yet are now submitting themselves to claim for their assistance," Cabato explained. Mayor Co leads turn over of P100-K to centenarians

By Gideon C. Corgue PAGADIAN CITY, September 18- Mayor Samuel Co took the lead in turning over the benefits of the two centenarians in the city. The centenarians were: 1 Matilde Dagahas (100 years old) of barangay Tuburan; 2. Esperanza Valdez (10 years odl) of barangay San Francisco. Co personally visited their homes and handed the centenarians P100,000.00 each. Co was accompanied by Evangilene Poquita, the City Social Welfare and Development Officer and her staff. The good mayor is hoping that with the benefits, the centenarians will be motivated to live longer. The cash benefit will help them the means to purchase medicines and other necessities. Meanwhile, the local chief executive was impressed by the two centenarians for they remained strong and could walk without the use of assistive devices.
